It has been about 3 years since I started my hobby on 'bling-making'. I have made several friends who have the same hobby and found many treasures (gemstones, lampwork, bali beads etc) during my bling-making journey. Totally fun but expensive too.
Something I made yesterday. A very easy project. The lampwork bead is simply awesome! This is a long necklace with lampwork bead as focal, lots of crystal bicones and a cute teardrop phrenite. The chain itself is rose gold from Shiana LLC.
Work work work - Something which I am rather loss in words these days. I don't even know how to describe it. I hope God gives me the serenity and strength.... please.
Beautiful things are my sweet distractions. They are a form of support to me - mentally and emotionally.
These are some of my personal favourites! More favourites can be found on my etsy site. First picture below shows the artwork of Ms Jodi (JodiStyle). She uses colourful painting style which is so artistic and cheery. This picture gives a feeling of hope and happiness... (Something which I am terribly lacking now)...
Next on the list:- Cute Owl Top. How much cuter can it get? This is so sweet! Found at KachingDesign
Lastly, for non-handmade stuff, *evil grin* it must be my favourite korean drama. Well, that's a bit off topic. Simply LOVE "Coffee Prince", it's every girl's dream to be the lead female cast in the story. Totally fun and romantic drama serial. I finished 9 episodes in less than 2 days' time. I was crazy. Here's the beautiful MTV, taken from YouTube:-
Frankly, life is the same for me. Nice breakfast of tea and toasted butter kaya bread in the morning. Window shopping in such casual mode. Beautiful weather - breezy, cooling and cosy. Oh yes, there is a 'smell' of cosiness in the air!
I never made any new year resolutions in the past. But this year I have one... To cut down on my unnecessary spending. I bought a lot of stuff last year - watches, bags, wallets, jewelry etc. I love them but I know they are not essentials in my life. It's not reasonable to expect myself not to spend totally, so I hope I would at least cut down on such spending.
And I made something a few days back. It's called Tranquility. I plan to make more cos I love this design. ^_^
Have been posting entries about my jewelry and hence thinking to post something different for a change.... Today is all about things I love. They are mostly from the talented etsy crafters and artistic lampworkers.
Don't you LOVE Tess? She's such a sweetie and I love her lots. Her cute innocent looks will melt any girl's heart! She's on my wishlist. I hope one day I can take her home. =)
4)AshtonJewels I'm a fan of Lydia Muell. Her lampwork skills is one of the best I've ever seen. How I wish I have the money to buy as many of her beads I love!
Making earrings are not my cup of tea. I make a lot more necklaces and bracelets than earrings. Instead of making earrings, I usually buy them. =) Of the limited number of earrings I made, these are my favourites.
The first one above is made of rose quartz chips, rhrodronite balls and crystals. I like the loops and they dangle nicely when worn.
This one (above) is unique. It's hard to assemble the various components to get this type of design on purpose.
The last two earrings are romantic earrings. Top image - Rose gold rose charms! I love them! Bottom image - Purple earrings.... ^_^ ametrine marquis, rose quartz, pink pearls, crystals... how much more romantic can we get? The ametrine purple earrings are now on my etsy - [sold]
Sabishii - Lonely - is what I feel in my new workplace. The people are nice in my office but I miss my friends and wonderful boss in my previous job. My new partner colleague is a good person and that is a great consolation to me.
This little picture of a girl named Sabishii, depicts the feelings I have. Today I am reminded to give thanks, for all the lovely things in my life.
On a separate note, I made something during the weekend. It has no name cos my brain juice simply dried up. Nevertheless, I like it. A tinge of extravagant, with all the gemstones glittering.
~~~~~****~~~~~ November is here. To me, it is a dreamy cooling month.
My inspiration drought is over. Today I finally made something. It is a necklace which consists of 2 filigrees wrapped together with a cushion blue opal crystal on top, a beautiful faceted teardrop green amethyst, several round amazonite beads, lots of crystal bicones.
I also took a photo of my jewelry stand... and realised that I have taken the back view of the stand instead of the front. *DUH*
This is a rework - I took apart a necklace with these beautiful lampwork beads and reworked them into a bracelet. The necklace was made last year and I was horrified to see the chains rusting away. To leave the lampwork beads without a 'home' was a sad idea. So one weekend, I decided to use them to make a new bracelet for myself.
The new bracelet is made of gorgeous icy cool looking aquamarine rondelles, intricate tea rose charms, sweet looking opalite round and elegant toggle. I love it! =)
Got a little bored yesterday and cut up a bracelet done previously. Did a small modification... Spot the difference!
The 1st picture shows the bracelet before modification. The 2nd one shows the bracelet after modification. I like the lampwork beads - in pretty sweet bubble gum sugar pale yellow and pink. Looks so yummy. Also like the hilltribe dragonfly clasp. Not cheap to make this one... anyway, no handmade stuff is cheap. This is my personal collection. Thinking of making another one for sale. **meow**
Feeling really romantic these few days. This loving sweet feeling has prompted me to create something pink and floral -- perfect for a sweet lady.
Made of pink opal roundells (yep, I used so many of them to form part of the chain), pretty clay flowers, pearls and crystals. I also added 2 sweet rose quartz to complete the look. The overall effect is so sweet. I like it alot. :)
Having more spare time now before I start my new job on 1 Oct 07... so I took the opportunity to make some changes to my banner on my humble etsy shop. I also listed quite a few new items there. Click here to take you there! --> orangetree's handmade jewelry
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bracelet Memory - Made from Kandice Seeber's beautiful lampwork beads. These beads were received during the period which I was blessed with beautiful memories. When I made these lampwork beads into a bracelet, it has a special meaning to me.... perhaps that explains why I wear it alot! :)
(Thanks to Brackendesigns for the help in the image :) )
And the bracelet with the necklace - The beautiful memories will always be in my heart.
This set of flower theme necklace and bracelet took me about 3 days to complete. Not a full 3 days but still they were long hours invested. :P
The bracelet's design was taken from a Jap bead magazine. Did minor modifications and the final look is shown above.
The necklace was a further modification. The focal of 3 flowers and purple teardrop beads was designed by myself. Have never worked on such design before and hence more time was required to come up with something that was satisfying to my eyes. ^_^
The necklace marks a new page in my beading journey. Finally I see myself able to try something more complicating and delicate. I have also gained more confidence.
Lots of thanks to all my friends who believed in me and encouraged me with all their hearts. Not forgetting my beloved husband who would drive me to all the bead shops in Singapore to get the parts I want. =)
"Elegant" was made somewhere middle of July this year. Consists of Indicolite swarovski crystal being the centerpiece, surrounded by swarovski round and bicones, as well as glass beads. The centerpiece was ordered from an online shop from Belgium. The opal bicones are given to me by a very good friend of mine who knows that I am crazy over crystal beads. =) This is one of the pieces that I really love. =================================
2nd Piece - Stonedust Bracelet
This bracelet was inspired by the designs of a jewellery maker from eBay. The picture did not turn out as good as I wanted it to be. Made of goldstone (had the wrong impression initially that the beads were jasper), bali beads and swarovski crystal beads.

3rd piece - Antique
This piece is called "Antique". Something simple. I like the flowery focal bead, it's a Japanese laser made bead. The rest of the components include swarovski crystal beads and seed beads.
This necklace is made of Shiana's silver rose pendant, bali beads and swarovski crystals. The rose is big and heavy, about 1 inch wide. Took me quite a while to figure out how to incorporate such a huge item. This is the end result after 1 hr+ of meddling. Quite pleased with the way it turned out.
Likes freedom, loves being alone, always lost in my own thoughts and in my own world. Loves everything pretty, sweet and luxurious looking. I know, I am superficial.
