New work - Pastel Moonstone Bracelet

Ordered some components directly from Japan and managed to receive them last week. I was excited to test the quality and durability of the new shower caps. Made a new bracelet "Pastel Moonstone" yesterday. I used lots of my personal favourites, including a Japanese ceramic pastel blue flower, moonstones (see the beautiful blue fire!), seed beads, opalets and crystals.

I'm not sure if I should list it or keep it for myself. This piece looks much better in person than on photos. Here are 2 of my miserable attempts to capture a little of its beauty.

Have a great week ahead! Thanks for dropping by.

Orangetree Lux Bracelet

I love gemstone bracelets but I can't afford them (and I can't decide which one I love the most too). So I decided I could make my own. Spent several weeks hunting over the internet for the correct stones - the right colour, shape and price.

Finally had the chance to assemble them together last week. Presenting my very own Orangetree Lux Bracelet!

New items update

New items are now available at both my Etsy shop and my Blogshop.

1) Garden Fiesta Bracelet

Feels like wearing a garland of flowers round your wrist! =) I love this piece!

This lovely bracelet is made with lots of love - Japanese glass cabochon, rose clays, crystals and seed beads woven onto a metal filigree. The back is covered by another filigree so your skin will not be pricked by the string ends. I added crystal rounds, pink opals and more seed beads for the rest of the bracelet.

Measures about 7 inches long and can be further extended.

2) Golden Circles Earrings

Happy pair of earrings! =) With pearls and sweet sparkly crystals. Let this pair of cheery earrings accompany you in your girls' night out or shopping.

Measures about 1.8 inches from end to end.

Breakthrough - Romantic Jasper Bracelet

(For sharper photos, please click here to my Flickr).

This piece is a ChALLenGe! This is my very first attempt to weave 2 filigrees together, add a clay rose (I bought this from the etsy seller, beadsupplies) and surround it with milky seed beads. Then I have the filigrees clawed to a Jasper stone (a gift from Geanie! thanks, dear) and used silver chains to keep it secure. How much work is that? Hours!.. of planning, staring, designing and putting into action.

I am greatly encouraged by the feedback given by the forumers from Starving Jewelry Artists on this bracelet. This forum is the most amazing craft forums I have seen so far. The bond among the members is really strong. =)

Christmas is coming! Have you prepared your heart to celebrate with the Lord?  ^_^

My Birthday Pressies!!

The definite truth - I busted my budget!!

Talking about plunging in and splurging... well, I did it and I know part of me is regretting while the rest of me believes I've made good purchases. I am reminded again inside my heart that spending huge amount of money (to me, that's huge amount of $$) does not give me instant happiness. In fact, it didn't give me any happiness when I bought the 2 expensive items. I was feeling more numb than anything. And still minimal happiness even till now.

1) Diamond Tennis Bracelet

This bracelet is objectively a good buy. I've spent months hunting for the right bracelet and this one fits my requirements and budget perfectly. The small diamonds sparkle like crazy and every one of them is nicely cut. This bracelet has a total of 4.32ct diamonds (total 47 of them).

2) Miu Miu Matelasse Amarena Wallet

This is under one of the wishlist. Finally found the perfect one after some effort. DH has been very understanding and supportive. This is something good that turned out from the whole episode.

3) Thermal Mug

This is my happiest purchase. It costs SGD39/-. I used SGD30 Takashimaya vouchers and only paid $9/- for it! ^_^ My office mug is really old and dirty so I thought to get a new one and this new babe can help keep my tea warm all the time.

That's all the unreveals I have. I'd be on ban till Oct when I go for my long awaited Korea trip. I know I am all sufficient in terms of material wants and I am really contented.

Honey and Milk * Floral Filigree Bracelet

From the Floral Filigree Collection ^_^

I fell in love with this Beautiful Japanese Clay Flower Bead when I first laid my eyes on her. She's so lovely and intricate... and I told myself that I MUST get her!

This lovely bead is woven to 2 elegant filigrees and is surrounded by dainty milky czech teardrop beads, beige seed beads and crystal bicones. Below the focal, I added sweet AB crystal to complete the look. I also added opal blue cube crystals, more crystal bicones and gold leaves to the entire bracelet. And did you notice 2 beautiful patterned brass beads as well? =) They are my rare finds at a local bead store. Heh heh *heart*

It is now up on my etsy. ^_^

Bracelet and new pair of shoes!

Finally finished a bracelet. This was started at least 2 weeks ago. Made of polymer clay rose focal, ruby heart drops, ametrine marquise, crystal rounds, bali beads and czech beads. And I was so lucky to spot this pair of かわいいshoes earlier while doing a little window shopping after lunch. Oh yes, I have fully recovered from my horrible tummy ache which lasted for 3 days. It was so wonderful to be able to enjoy nice Japanese noodles without having to feel stomach pain after the meal. =) Back to the shoes... they are so unique - with different pictures sewed on each shoe and the shoe straps are different too. The straps are wrapped round the shoes. Pic below shows 2 pairs of beloved shoes - left ones are from Clarks and right ones are the new pair I bought today. Here's a close up of the new babe:-

End note to myself (I've learnt quite a bit last week):-

1) Never eat anything which tastes/ smells weird. Serves me right for eating weird chilli and didn't stop myself even though I suspected something was wrong.
2) Never think a person is simple or straight forward, even though he/ she looks like one. A person who is highly educated is not a person who is intelligent in every thing. We all know that. I just cannot believe I need to be taught a big lesson to learn this again.
3) Never trust a person's words totally, especially if I have just known the person for a few weeks. Again, we all know this. And I thought I know this very well. But alas....

I have a sweet colleague who keeps her Facebook strictly for her family members. I think it is a great idea. A wonderful tool to keep in touch and a quick way to know how everyone is doing... even a safe haven from the harshness of the world. This blog is my haven but it is not as sheltered as I hope it would be. Enough of my grumblings... all things will be well in the end.

What's up this weekend?

Love cats? There's a Championship Cat Show at Expo today. These are well-groom cats, not the usual stray cats I see on the streets. They are loved much by their owners (well decorated cages, nice warm blankets and regular cuddles + grooming). I took some pics, not of the best quality but you can see how cute these cats are!

I'm a layman in cats appreciation. To me, strays and pedigreed cats are the same - equally cute and in need of love. Check out the Cat Welfare Society to find out how we can help!

Besides going to the cat show, I went bling hunting. I think I'm seriously bored and lazy and hence looking for new things to keep me entertained. Sound like I am having a wasted life. **LOL** Maybe... To protect hubby's wallet, I stopped myself from buying any diamonds. Instead I got myself a LV Suhali bracelet. Well, not a good move anyway (where's the new year resolution?!). This bracelet is something I like for the longest time ... I'm real glad I got it. Hope it fits my wrist well. And lastly, as usual, my doodle...

And not forgetting new items in my shop

Made of many beautiful parts and components - rose gold flower pin, Ashton Jewels lampwork beads, sparkly citrine, rose gold flower clasp, phrenite teardrops, phrenite and labradorite rondelles, milky czech teardrop beads. Orangetree Happy Creation

It has been about 3 years since I started my hobby on 'bling-making'. I have made several friends who have the same hobby and found many treasures (gemstones, lampwork, bali beads etc) during my bling-making journey. Totally fun but expensive too.

Something I made yesterday. A very easy project. The lampwork bead is simply awesome! This is a long necklace with lampwork bead as focal, lots of crystal bicones and a cute teardrop phrenite. The chain itself is rose gold from Shiana LLC.

And Bubblegum Sugar is now listed on my etsy!
