It has been a while since I post a store update here. Here's a peep to some of the new items that I have placed on both my blogshop and etsy for sale. They are elegant and high quality, but still very affordable! Do check them out!

Rakuten again!

Rakuten. That's my all time favourite Japanese online store. I especially love their petite pendants and rings, so dainty and feminine! ^_^ It appears that some of our readers love the store too so I decided to do another post today.

Amazing Craftopolis

Heard of Craftopolis? It is a site which allows Etsy online shop owners to see if they have been featured in any treasury or gift guide. It also allows users to know the remaining time to the opening of Etsy treasuries.

Just found out that Craftopolis has a new feature and.... it is COOL! Now Etsy shop owners (like you and me ^_^) can know the number of "followers" we have for our shop and the individual items listed in our shop. Just by a click or two. Amazing!

Here are screen captures of the new feature:-

1) "Followers" of the shop -
Tells you how many "hearted" your shop for the particular month and date. Wow!!

2) Etsy users who "hearted" the item listed in your shop -
Again, it tells you how many "hearted" the item for the month and date. Also, you can tell how many in total love your item when you hover your mouse over to the item.

Love my loot!!!

Perhaps it is every beader's dream to own a proper tool set. Not only would they make the jewelry making process easier, they also enhance the overall experience (well, professional tools make me feel like a professional too, though I am far from one **LOL**). So I bought my very first professional BeadSmith tool set today... with hubby's money. *evil grin* I am so in love with them! 8 tools packed nicely in a blue pouch. Chain nose pliers, bent chain nose pliers, flat nose pliers...etc etc... wow! Can't wait to use them.

Also managed to get my hands on LOTS of Japanese clay and ceramic flowers. These are sooooo pretty, I am very tempted to buy the entire supply from the shop. These flower beads are made in Japan. They are rare and only few are available here. I grab alot whenever they are in stock. In the end, I spent close to $150 for the tool set and supplies. My miserable effort in saving money indeed. =P

My new loot + shop update

2 new things to share with everyone. Both in pink! 

Call me kiddish, I bought a Little Twin Star key chain yesterday. It's really sweet - with a pink bow, the trademark angel couple, several pretty plastic smiley stars and lots of tiny gold stars. I hang it on my bag, the size is perfect!

I also bought a large jewelry box. Decided to use them to hold my bead supplies. The box looks pretty but the quality is not that great as compared to another one I bought from Hallmark. Nevertheless, it will serve me well to hold the stones, beads and findings... not forgeting my tools.

Counting down to unemployment

Only about 9 days more to go before I sack myself officially from my full-time job. This is the right choice. I struggled alot before deciding to resign. It is never easy to be different from many others - being out of job voluntarily while others feel the need to have one since the job market is bad now. For those of you, my friends, who are currently enjoying your work, you are blessed. It is a mistake that I resigned from a job I love almost 2 years ago. I seriously wonder if I would ever be so lucky again.

If you are like me, going to be unemployed soon and trying to make sense what actually happened... let's be strong. Let's try to be positive. Most importantly, let's be grateful for the good things we still have in life.  **hugs**

After window-shopping at Rakuten for several months, I decided to give it a try -- by ordering a bag from one of the participating shops that could ship items overseas. I bought a blue leather bag from a shop named Yamamoto. It is a really simple but functional bag. I just love the blue colour! I'm still waiting for the seller to get back to me on the shipping charges. Hopefully the entire transaction would be smooth.

Mieu

I rarely blog about my struggles. I aim to share the beautiful, happy things in my life and the sweet, touching encounters I came across. I wanted my blog to be a place where readers can enjoy, relax and join me in appreciating these beauties (dare I say that would include my jewelry pieces? At least, those are beauties in my eyes.)

Today is different. I want to share my fears and struggles. In a short 1.5 yrs, I have switched 3 jobs. 2 were because there were financial problems with the companies. Tomorrow, I will resign from my 3rd job. This current one was and still is a struggle. I can't write as well as what the bosses want... As a result, I struggled every time I need to write a submission to them, and my job requires me to write write write every day, almost every minute. This is a total nightmare. Frankly, I don't understand why the department is structured this way, why things are done in this manner. No need to ask anyone, the system doesn't allow such questions anyway.

In my sadness, I drew "Mieu" during lunchtime today. This is how I feel now.

3 jobs in such a short time, interviewers asked me why. So did my friends. "Again?" they asked. Please don't say that to your friends if you ever come to know their career is not as smooth. "Again" is not an encouraging word, though it is a normal reaction.

I guess I have vented enough. Apologies this entry is not as happy as the past. Please give a little encouragement to me if you are being prompted in your heart. Thanks...

My New Juicy Couture Watch

I'm pretty sure I'm too old to own any Juicy Coutures. But this lovely watch was on my wishlist for more than a year. It was on sale yesterday at Robinson Centrepoint, I was so happy that I bought it without much consideration. I was impressed with the box, beautifully designed in pink and brown colours.

The watch has a mother-of-pearl face, with lovely silver patterned hour and minute hands. I like the trendy charms attached to the leather strap. Yummy Juicy Couture watch... I guess I have not grown up yet! ^_^

More beautiful eye candies from Rakuten Japan website. Many shops now offer international shipping. If you don't understand Japanese, fret not. The website translates the Japanese descriptions to a language of your choice. E.g. English and Korean. I'm very tempted to get these for myself.  =)

My anniversary present part 2

Hubby got me another anniversary present. It's a solitaire 0.707ct, H colour, VVS2, ideal cut diamond ring from Soo Kee (a local jewelry boutique in Singapore). This ring means alot to me, thank you DH, for being so sweet! I'm very touched.  =)

There's no sun, it's a cloudy rainy day now. Hopefully I'd be able to get a good shot when it is sunny again tomorrow. (11 Apr 09 - edited to add a new photo hubby took of the ring this morning.  =)  )

~~ * Fairy Love - Floral Filigree Necklace * ~~

Inspired by the beautiful gemstone beads and Japanese clay flowers.

I weaved lots of treasures on 3 pieces of metal filigrees - Japanese glass cabochon (this is a rare gem I found at my local bead store), Japanese clay pink flowers, crystal bicones, ruby teardrops and seed beads. I also added sparkly pink quartz, glass faceted beads and crystals for the rest of the necklace. Realised copper and gold make a perfect couple. ^_^

Dainty pair of gemstone earrings. They remind me of sweet juicy berries in the fields. Made of sparkly pink quartz, crystal bicones and elegant silver bead caps.
